Vivid Sydney is an annual festival that transforms Sydney into a vibrant hub of creativity, innovation, and technology. Scheduled for its 15th year from May 23 to June 14, 2025, the festival spans 23 days and nights, offering a diverse program that includes:
Vivid Light
Features outdoor light installations and 3D projections that illuminate iconic landmarks such as the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Vivid Music
Showcases performances by local and international artists across various venues in the city.
Vivid Ideas
Hosts talks, workshops, and debates with leading creative thinkers, focusing on creativity, innovation, and technology.
Vivid Food
Introduced in 2023, this segment incorporates culinary experiences featuring local and international chefs across several Sydney venues.
The 2025 festival theme is “Dream,” aiming to inspire attendees to envision a future of creativity and innovation. Vivid Sydney is owned, managed, and produced by Destination NSW, the New South Wales Government’s tourism and major events agency.

For 2025, the festival is organized into five main zones, each offering a unique experience:
1. Circular Quay and The Rocks: This zone features iconic landmarks such as the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge, adorned with dazzling light installations and projections.
2. Barangaroo: A vibrant waterfront precinct showcasing contemporary light displays and interactive installations along its promenades.
3. Martin Place and CBD: Returning for the first time since 2018, this area transforms the heart of the city with large-scale light works, music performances, and dining experiences.
4. Darling Harbour: Known for its lively atmosphere, this zone offers spectacular water and light shows, live music, and family-friendly activities.
5. The Goods Line and Inner City: A cultural hub featuring innovative light installations, thought-provoking talks, and culinary delights.
